Meal Plan Monday

I have been talking a lot about meal planning, not just meal planning, but day planning, week planning.  For years I have attempted to get my life organized, and failed horribly.  But with stress and time crunches really beginning to wear on me, it is truly time to get myself into a routine that gives me more time for fun.  So every week I will be writing Meal Plan Monday to share with you what our family will be eating the following week! How To Keep Cut Flowers Fresh

In front of my living room window is their usual spot.  That is where I like to keep my fresh-cut flowers.  Sometimes they come from my garden, other times they come from the local market...and when my husband is trying to make me feel special, they come from him.  Often when I'm at my local grocery store I look at the discounted flower bouquets. Often there may only be one or two flowers that have started to wilt, but the rest are still … [Read more...]

How To Store Your Winter Coats

I'm a little afraid to say it...but Spring is here! The spring bulbs are blooming and the snow has finally disappeared.  It's been a long winter and I've been looking forward to getting rid of all the winter coats, snow suits, hats, mittens...and boots.  I want it all gone for at least the next  6 to 8 months. But the thing about storing all these things is that they are big and bulky.  They take up so much space!  That last thing I want … [Read more...]

Seventh Generation

Laundry and diapers.  These two things fill my days, every day.  These are two products that I consume so much, that it's hard not to feel a twinge of guilt every time I throw away that diaper, or add another cap-full of detergent to the washer.  "What are the environmental effects of all this consumption?", "How are these products good for my family?" "Can I feel safe using them?"  All questions I ask myself regularly while I do my weekly … [Read more...]

Deborah Lowther, family health blogger and mother of three, has survived 1065 school mornings and counting. Back To School – GlowBaby

Whether you are a seasoned parent, or a new one, Back-To-School is the time of year when everything changes.  Daily routines get put back in place, no more late dinners, kids have to be in bed on time!  It's a time for preparing, getting up early, and being organized.
