Creamy Cheddar and Ham Roll-Ups #WhatsCooking

It’s all about snacks.

At least at my house. There could be a million and one meals to cook – but if there is nothing for snacking on, the cupboards may as well be bare. I am constantly hearing… “Mom!  There’s nothing to eat!” When snack food runs slim, I like think outside of the box.  I am queen of peeking my head in the fridge and coming out with something that is quick and delicious.  I mean, all it takes is a little creativity.

Kraft Canada just released a new product, Philadelphia Creamy Cheddar. You can find it where you usually shop, it’ll be on shelf with all your favorite Kraft Philadelphia Dips and Cream Cheese products.  At first glance I knew this would make an amazing ham and cheese sandwich.  But that’s not very creative, now is it?

So how about a bread-less snack?

I knew I couldn’t have been the only one to come up with this idea… and I was right.  Because on the Kraft Canada website you’ll find a simple recipe for Creamy Cheddar and Ham Roll-Ups.  Perfect for picnics, after school snacks and yes, even in the lunch box itself.  Especially for my boy-who-doesn’t-love-bread.

Now we all know – I just couldn’t leave well enough alone.  Yes… just the basic ham and cheese would put a smile on my kids faces… but me… I like some tang in my roll up.  So what does any good sandwich come served with??? Pickles of course!  And maybe a little grainy mustard for dipping too.
