As you may remember, I am working with Kellogg’s this Holiday season to help spread the word about the #TreatsforToys campaign. I shared with you a few weeks ago about the treats that I created… and it was so much fun putting them together. I’m actually planning an evening with my kids this weekend where we can make a few more toys and share them on social media. It is such an easy way to give back.
Share your Rice Krispies toy creation on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the #TreatsforToys hashtag and Kellogg’s will donate $20 to The Salvation Army to buy a real toy for a child in need.
We created Reg the Race Car using the Holiday Kellogg’s Rice Krispies. We followed the directions on the box to make the perfect Rice Krispie Treat and let then set. We then shaped the treat into the shape of a car. Since the Rice Krispie Treats are soft, it’s easily shaped. I used icing for the windows, licorish whips for the the details and yellow jelly beans for the headlights. Complete with chrome rims!
Making Reg the Race Car took about 15 minutes. Sharing him on social media will bring many hours of happiness to a child this holiday season.
