Get Creative with Crayola this Christmas

Santa was always very generous to me when I was small.  I remember each year I would receive a small locked box, a diary with a key, new coloring books and a brand new box of Crayola crayons.  After the excitement of the day I would pick up my new treasures and head off to my room.  I would protect that brand new box of crayons.  I would hide it from my younger sister…sometimes – it even made it’s way into that locked box.

Each and every year that Santa has made his way visit my kids, he’s always carried with him a brand new box of crayons as well… but that’s not all – now Santa (and Crayola) have a lot more toys to gift.

Check out the Crayola Crayon Carver

crayola carver

The perfect Crayola toy for the kid (or young adult) who loves to rip the paper off their crayons. Why?  Because for this super cool toy to work, you need to take the paper off.  Carve names, messages, pictures and more into your favorite color of crayon.

My boys and I tried out the Crayon carver – and after a few broken crayons we got it all figured out. The key – take your time.  The toy itself is pretty straight forward.  Place up to nine tiles in the slots – then trace them with the arm.  As you’re tracing, a small drill-like-thing is carving the same thing into your crayon.  My boys wrote their names… a few minor insults to each other and had a blast doing it.

Included is 40 letter and icon tiles, two crayon wrapper rippers, and 2 – 8 count crayon packages.  I highly recommend picking up a few spare packages of Crayons when you buy this – it’s a lot of fun, and you’ll want more crayons to carve.

Ben playing with the Crayola crayon carver… Super cool toy. Carved words and pictures into the crayons.

Crayola Has Even More In Store This Holiday Season

So, the carver is pretty cool…  But there’s more. poseable The thing about kids is they learn quickly.  If a brand new electronic device came out tomorrow – our kids would master it far faster than we would.  And that’s a good thing – it’s them who need to know just how to make all our cool technology work. With the Crayola Easy Animation Studio kids can make their own animations.  Using the booklet included, they can colour in the characters and backgrounds, then scan them into the animation studing using the free app.  The app is available for iOS and Andriod devices (be sure to check crayola.com/appcheck for specific device compatibility)  Once characters and backgrounds are loaded into the app, kids can make their characters move using a pose able mannequin…kinda like stop-motion animation..only faster and easier.
