I love light foods. An appetizer for my lunch is really all I need. And what’s fun about appetizers is that you can make them just about any way you like. One of my favourite flavour mixtures is cream cheese and tomato…throw in a little salmon and nom nom nom….
So when I got to try new Breton Popped! Beans crackers chips and Breton Bean crackers, I knew just exactly what I would be doing with them.
Wait. I’m getting ahead of myself here…
Let me take a step back for a second. You likely don’t know what Breton Bean crackers and Breton Popped! Beans cracker chips are, do you?
Here’s the low down.
I’m sure when I say the name Breton, you know what I’m talking about. Those yummy crackers in the longish box, right? Well, Breton Bean is similar in taste, but different because beans are the #1 ingredient. And they are certified gluten-free by the Canadian Celiac Association. Which just happens to make them the perfect choice of cracker to serve!
Ok Ok…Back to the important stuff.
My favourite of all the flavours was the Breton Popped! Beans Sweet Chili Cheddar…they have a fantastic flavour and you can easily add toppings to them the accent the taste! Though I have to admit…I did dig into the Breton Popped! Sea Salt & Pepper while watching a movie with my hubby. I’m such a salt fan.
If you prefer the traditional taste of a cracker, try out the Breton Bean crackers in two new flavours: Breton White Bean with Salt & Pepper and Breton Black Bean with Onion & Garlic. Both give you 3 grams of fibre and 2 grams of protein per serving.
