A Touch of Spring & New Pillow Cases

This has been the whitest winter in a long time.  Just last week we were on the receiving end over 100cm of snow…again.  My back yard houses over 4 feet of snow…throughout the entire yard…with drifts well over 5 or 6 feet. It will be May before we see the grass, let alone a tulip or daffodil. So, I’m bringing spring inside.

I figure right now is the perfect time to get my spring cleaning complete.  That way, when the weather does finally begin to warm up, I can head outside and enjoy it. I’ve been building my spring cleaning to do list, and this week I’ll be putting it down on paper, and beginning to check things off.

But, just to cheer myself up after a long week of being stuck in the house, shoveling umpteen-million centimeters of snow and having my kids on top of me for a week (March break) I made myself some beautiful new pillow cases.

Pillow Case

I paid $15 for the fabric at the local fabric shop, and spent about an hour cutting, ironing and sewing. I used the Pillowcases for Every Bed design on Purlbee, and I love the result! They are beautiful, and I will certainly be making more, but first, bedding to match!

I love making my own pillow cases! Last week I did one made of a camo print for my boy…..

There’s so many more fabric options when you make your own.
