5 Sugar Free Easter Gift Ideas

When I was a little girl Easter was a very exciting time.  It was a time for Family, big Turkey dinner, and a basket full of chocolate.

The Easter that I remember the most happened when my sister and I were really little.  I have no idea how old we were, I may have been 5 or 6.  We shared a room in the small apartment that my mother rented, and on Easter Sunday we woke up to an Easter Basket, a new Sunday dress and a big, floppy sun hat.  I’m not sure if it happened every year, or just one year.  But that is what sticks out in my mind.

Now, when I think about buying gifts for my kids I think of video games or the newest system…those are the things they’re always asking for.  But this is Easter, not Christmas.  And my budget truly cannot afford to buy crazy gifts twice a year.

Since I have boys, I also don’t get to buy the pretty sun dresses and bonnets like I received as a child, but I have put together this list of gift ideas for both boys and girls, hopefully it will help you save a little cash, and make some memories with your kids this Easter!

A Spring/Summer outfit.Old Navy Spring 2013

When it comes to fashionable outfits for my kids, my favorite place to shop is Old Navy.  Everything is affordable and in perfect style for the season.  I also love that I don’t have to leave my house to do it!  Shopping on OldNavy.ca at midnight in my pj’s has become a habit of mine.

I like to do one of these for each of us!  Each brightly colored beach bag gets a beach towel, sunscreen, a new bathing suit, a hair brush, flip flops, and baby powder.

Now is a great time to pick up those fun spring toys too.  Like a pail and shovel, jump rope and sidewalk chalk.

Great post — My childhood Easters were also about chocolate, sugary treats, and Easter egg hunts. I am extremely hesitant to make my children’s Easter about sweets.
