Ghost Buddy

When I was a little girl, I was a reader. I read just about every ‘tween series going at the time, Little House, Baby Sitter’s Club, even Nancy Drew. You name it, I’ve likely read it twice. I knew my kids would follow in my footsteps. Not only my footsteps,  their dad has read hundreds of titles. We are both strong believers in the doors that open when you are well read.

So when I was contacted to check out a new series for young kids, I was thrilled to add a few more titles to our Library. As was Ben. You see, Ben began reading at only two years old. We taught him phonics from the moment he began to speak, and he took it from there. At 7 years old, he has read many chapter books already…and his list of books is growing non stop.

He welcomed these two new books into his collection with true excitement. See, Ben likes a story. Like his mom he never wants to finish a book, cause when he does that means the story is over. So books that come in a series appeal to both Ben and I. We love a continuation…something to look forward to.

Ghost Buddy #1 Zero to Hero and  #2 Mind if I Read Your Mind by Henry Winkler and Lin Oliver. A story about a young boy who has moved from the home he grew up in when his mother remarried. His new blended family comes together across town in an old, century home. As he goes through the changes of a new house, and new school, he quickly realizes that he is not alone.

This new series has been a hit at our house. Ben was able to relate to much of the nervousness of the characters as he himself moved into a new home this year, and he had change schools. I sat down and read both book one and two, and honestly can’t wait to read the third!

I have three copies of book one and two of the Ghost Buddy series to give away to my Canadian readers. To enter, just follow the directions in the form below.

I absolutely loved the Bobbsey Twins series. I have almost the entire series in hardcover, and I’ve schlepped them around with me as I’ve moved from place to place so that I could pass them down to my kids one day! My elder daughter now has them in her room :)

I also loved the Thornton Burgess animal series, which I have also saved from my childhood…and the Narnia boxset! My kids can’t believe that the boxset has survived for 30 years!
