Please Don’t Do The Laundry

To My Dearest Hubby,

I appreciate that you wanted to help, that you thought you were doing good.

Please don’t do the laundry.

There are many things on our list to do, like cleaning the floors in the bathroom.

Please don’t do the laundry.

‘Cause tonight I came home and saw my laundry was gone.  My bloodpressure rose as I searched.  I had hopes the you had just moved them, to sweep or scrub.  But it soon became clear, that you, my dear, had washed my sweaters tonight.

5 sweaters mixed with a giant blanket in a washer that was too full.  And as I pulled them out, and saw the results, you can guess the thoughts in my head.  My sweaters I loved, are now stretched all to hell.

And my Lulu’s, my poor lulu’s!  I almost cried when I found them…do you know what they cost?? Not alone, hanging, where they usually dry, but under a towel, in the dryer on high…

If your goal in all this was to score some fun, in the bedroom tonight. Please note that while you are waiting.  I’ll be playing with this trusty toy all alone… In hopes that just my clothes can be saved.

So next time you have the urge to help out, feel free to clean the toilets.  Or vacuum or scrub, or get that drain unplugged… But please, I’m begging please…

  1. Oh my goodness, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree I’m afraid. I hope he’s out of the “dog house” soon. :-)

  2. LOL That’s so funny. My mom has the same problem with my dad. I am forwarding this link to her. I try not to have clothing that needs to be washing a certain way or hung to dry although I do have a few. I don’t even following washing instructions on some things like bathing suits and bras. Unless they are brand new, I don’t hand wash them.

  3. Barb Garber says:

Yep my husband wrecked all my bras by doing laundry

  4. Elizabeth Matthiesen says:

if only they’d ask instead of just being ‘helpful’. In the end just more work is made for you and they wonder why we don’t like ‘help’. Men just don’t like asking for instructions, with anything unfortunately :-(

  5. Darlene W says:

With my hubby everything goes in one load

  6. Laurie P says:

Hubby is only allowed to wash his own clothes…..I’ve got a list, a very long one, of things he can do if he’s feeling helpful.

He’s shrunk a few things of mine, a few years ago.
