When I was a kid, one of my very favorite things to find under the Christmas tree was a brand new box of crayons and a coloring book. I could guarantee that Santa was sure to leave both my sister and I a bright yellow and green box full of imaginative fun, and lots of books to fill with color. My love for crayons never left me. Now I watch my kids open those same yellow and green boxes and smile great big smiles. Knowing that they’re going to have hours of fun with these. Santa is usually pretty nice to mommy too. (I still get a box of crayons for Christmas)

Last week, my boys each received a gift from Crayola.
Ben got the new Glow Explosion Spin Magic. This was an instant hit! I let him open it up in the evening, so finding a dark room wouldn’t be difficult. It comes with 4 colored markers, and one large activator marker. It also comes with cut out shapes for putting on the mobile. Using it is simple. You color the shapes with the markers and the go over your work with the activator. The you just clip the shapes into the mobile and turn it on. Instantly you have a glowing scene. Ben’s favorite was the planets! The glow will last for around 4 hours. It’s a great way to help fill your kids evenings, especially where it gets dark out so early. I’ve already made sure Santa was bringing him more Glow Explosion sets for Christmas. Anything that he likes this much is worth adding to!
William’s favorite thing to do with Crayons right now is eat them. A few weeks shy of a year old, finding creative toys can be difficult. But Crayola had something perfect, just for him! William received the Crayola Beginnings Tub Boat. It is his first boat toy in the tub, and he LOVES it. Though at a year old he’s not overly active with the Tadoodles, he tries. He gets a few marks here and there. Since it’s recommended for children aged 18months+ I expect he’ll grow into this over the winter.
There is one more thing on my Christmas list for the kids. Well, probably more for Ben. It’s the Crayola Color Wonder Sound Studio. When I first read about it, I thought it may be just a bit too young for Ben. But, now that he’s seen commercials, and in store, I realized that this is something he could have a blast with! The Color Wonder Sound Studio lets kids add sounds to their page! There are 60 sound effects and you can put them anywhere on the interactive pad. Set up the sounds and they’ll play back when it’s time to color! I think even Mommy would have fun with this one.
