Keeping Bath Time Special

You’ve made it through the 5:00 rush.  The kids are fed, and playing in the background.  The dishes have been cleaned up and it’s getting close to bed time.  Awesome.  An hour from now your kids will be having peaceful dreams and you can relax with a favorite book, an awesome TV show, or, like me, your laptop.

What you do in the next hour has a huge impact on how well your children relax into sleep time.  From newborns to older children a calming down time in the evening is a very effective way to introduce sleep time.  Bath time is an effective, and calming transition for children of all ages.

When it comes to bath time, there is one company that has always stood out to me.  One company that has been around for the long haul.  It’s what my mother bathed me with, and what I use on my own children.  And, quite possibly, what you use on your children as well.  Of course, I’m speaking of Johnson’s Baby.  Their special formulated products specifically for our babies has kept us “smelling like a baby” for decades.

Last week I received a package from  Johnson’s Baby.  It was a beautiful basket full of some of the most loved Johnson’s baby products.  All the products that we can use to make bath time more enjoyable for babies and parents.  Along with the wonderful contents of the basket was some information.  Tips and advice on how to best interact with your babies during bath time.

I enjoyed reading the tips and tricks to a more enjoyable bath time, and have already started taking some of the advice.  My 10 month old, William loves the bath, he loves to splash and play around.  Though right now he’s in the phase of always wanting to stand up in the tub.  Not safe at all.  So what I do is keep him constantly entertained while getting clean.  Simple toys like the rubber ducky included in the gift basket are a big help.  For him, a ducky, a cup that he can pour over himself, and bubbles tend to keep him safely seated.  Since reading all the wonderful advice from Johnson’s I’ve now added a massage to his bath time/bed time routine.  After he’s clean and dry, we go to his room, turn down the lights and he gets the royal treatment.  We use the Bedtime Bath product line, they release the NATURALCALM essences.  Soothing aromas to help calm baby. They’ve really helped William calm down at night, and I’m now using them on my 5 year old Benjamin as well.

If your looking for idea’s to help you and your baby enjoy bathtime, check out the Johnsonsbaby.com/bathtime Learning Center.  You’ll find age appropriate advice and suggestions for babies from Newborn to well over a year.

So, we want to help one lucky family enjoy bath time.  So we’re giving away a basket full of Johnson’s Baby products, an adorable rubber ducky from Boon, and some very soft baby faceclothes.  (est value, $60) To Enter, check out the helpful bath time tips in the learning center on Johnson’s Baby.  Come back here and tell me something you learned in a comment below.

I learned that it’s better to bathe your baby before a feeding, as long as he’s not too hungry. Bathing too soon after a feeding may make him uncomfortable and he may spit up.
