Wow!  It’s been so hot this week!  It’s amazing how the weather here in Nova Scotia can change so quickly.  Last week it was dreary and rainy, and all of a sudden we’re hittin 30!  Though I’m not a huge fan of the heat, call me a winter girl, but it’s great for the kids (sunscreen included).

Nice weather and outdoor play make for very happy kids, and this week Ben has had the opportunity to play his little heart out!  Especially since we got the new outdoor toy from Step 2.

Step 2 toys are a trusted name in this house.  They were the makers of Ben’s First Slide, his easle, his play kitchen and now the boys get to share this…

What I really love about Step 2 is the creativity that opens up in my kids when they play with their toys.  No need for TV screens or video games, just pure imagination.  And that is what Ben showed me as soon as Daddy set up the Play Up Double Slide Climber.  In a matter of seconds Ben’s imagination kicked in and he was a Priate on the high seas, yelling Land Ho!  and Shiver Me Timbers.  There was a few ARG’s in there too!  Fresh Air & Imagination makes a Mommy very happy.

What surpised me was just how quick it went together. While the baby slept and I cooked dinner, Daddy and Ben put it together, finished in less than an hour.  They were actually finished before I had dinner finished, which was awesome ’cause Ben didn’t have to eat before he played.  Patients in 5 year olds don’t go well together, at least not my 5 year old.
