Earth Day – Majesta Blog Tour

I love working with Brands.  Learning why they do things the way they do, and working with them to grow.   I was thrilled a few months back when I received an invitation from Mom Central to become a Majesta Mom.

Being a Majesta Mom helped open my eyes to what I think about when I buy paper products for my family.   What goes into a product and what happens to that product after I’m done with it.  The majority of families use things like toilet paper, paper towel and facial tissues every day.  But, what do you look for when buying those products?

Do you buy the most expensive, softest toilet paper on the market?  Or do you buy the TP made from recycled material?  Or maybe you just buy what ever happens to be on sale.

Prior to learning about Majesta, I was the Mom who bought what was on sale, but when it was one of those really expensive softer than your pillow brands, I bought extra.  I learned quickly softer doesn’t always mean better.  With little boys in my house, who aren’t so good at realizing that you only need a few sheets, my toilet got clogged – A Lot!  Through my experience as a Majesta Mom, I learned why.

The Shake Test

We were provided with a sample of Majesta Toilet Paper and as well, a sample of Charmin.  We were asked to place 4 sheets of each into plastic bottles, add water and Shake Shake Shake… then document the results.  Since I thought this was a wonderful learning opportunity for Ben, he got to do the shaking while I snapped the pictures.

The Experiment

First we compared the two toilet papers.  The Charmin is definitely thicker, more woven, and yes a tad softer.  The Majesta was less woven, but still held together well, slightly thinner than the Charmin.  It is soft, just not quite as soft as the Charmin.

We put four sheets of each Brand of Toilet Paper in plastic bottles prefilled with water.

Ben was given the privelage of shaking the two bottles.

First he did the Charmin

Then the Majesta

Our conclusion was, after the same amount of shaking, the Majesta Toilet Paper broke down into an almost pulp like substance.  The Charmin stayed in a clump.  Daddy took the bottle containing the Charmin after we had done the test and shook it a lot.  Even after that, the Charmin was still in pieces, so where near the break down that the Majesta displayed.

Notice how white the Left one is.  That’s becuase the toilet paper has broken down so much that it’s mixed evenly though the water.

So, What did I learn about Majesta?? Where do I start….

Majesta products are made from 100% New Materials.  Now, I know what your thinking….“How is that ‘Green‘?”

Well, when Majesta cuts down a tree to make their paper products, they plant 3 more.  Responsible forest management is key in making sure that our air stays clean, our forests full, and even just ensuring that our kids will  have a shady tree to sit under.  So when you buy Majesta, your being treesponsible!

Majesta products break down quickly!  Great for our septic systems, and composting.

Majesta products have always been present in my home.  They’ve been a name that I trust for many years.  Now that I’ve spent so much time learning about their products and their forest managment policies, they’ll be my first choice in paper products for many years to come.
