The Great Toadstool Hunt!
Ben and I had a bit of a toadstool frenzi today. There was a giant toadstool that shot up in the front yard over the last two days and I had to get a picture of it. I would bet that this toadstool could have been seen from three or four houses away. Toadstools are kind of amazing aren’t they? They just seem to pop up out of no where.
This is Ben and the Giant Toadstool. He poked and prodded at it with a stick as best he could without destroying it. I think it’s the biggest one he’s ever seen. Shortly after I snapped the picture he kicked and mashed it. Ahhh, boys.
Then the toadstool hunt began. There were many different kinds of fungi in the yard today. We’ve had a lot of rain lately so they had quite a boost. Yellow ones, and funny shaped ones. Umbrella shaped ones (they’re for the fairies you know), and wrinkly ones. We had a fantastic time, and Ben learned a lot about mushrooms… including not to ever, ever put them in his mouth… unless they come from the fridge!
We definitely had fun with the fungi today…
